Celebrate the Celestial Event of the Year!

On Aug 21, the continental United States will be treated to a solar eclipse, with some parts of the country experiencing the first total eclipse since 1979. The path of totality, where the moon completely covers the sun, will pass through 14 states from Oregon to South Carolina. Numerous Palm Beach County Library System locations will be celebrating this significant event.

Before the big day, check out the exciting events listed below celebrating this memorable occasion. Whether you’re an adult and want to hear from an eclipse expert at our Jupiter Branch, or want your children to share the experience, there’s an option for you.

Our view here in Palm Beach County will be partial, but proper eyewear is necessary!

If you are unable to get the necessary eyewear, you are also able to watch the solar eclipse online.

Aug 21, 1:15pm - 4:00pm

Weather permitting. Glasses no longer available.

Due to enthusiastic community interest, supplies are depleted. Check out the American Astronomical Society's list of reputable vendors to purchase a pair of your own.
