Haitian Heritage Month

For the eight consecutive year we share the beauty of the Haitian culture through the celebration of the written word, art, music, and dance.

This year as part of the Haitian Heritage Celebration we will be unveiling the new Haitian Cultural Collection. We proudly offer our community a collection that will highlight Haiti’s history and culture. The collection will include adult & juvenile books in Haitian Creole, French and English.

Join us on Saturday, May 13, 2:00 pm at the Lantana Road Branch for the unveiling of the new Haitian Cultural Collection. Meet beloved Haitian author Jessica Fievre who will discuss her experiences as a writer and enjoy a festive afternoon with dance performances by Dayana Dolne and more!

Haitian Heritage Month would not be possible without the support and generosity of the Friends of the Library, who have supported our participation in this celebration since 2010!
